Web Site Navigation PDF Print E-mail

Web Site Navigation is one of the most critical components of a web site. Your site needs to be easy to navigate so people don't become frustrated when looking for something.

By having a navigation system that is always available and designed well, your users will find what they are looking for quickly.

Below are a few of the navigation options available.

Left hand menu: This is the menu you can see to your left now. It lists all of the main areas of your site.

Left hand submenus: By having submenus, you can have more information with each main section that is all together in one place. Notice the Web Development menu option. It has submenus for each area within the Web Development section.

Top Menus: You can have menus at the top of your site for the most important items you want to offer. You can have the same menu items as your Left hand menu or just the most important ones. Notice the menu that appeared at the top of the page. It uses some of the same menu options as the left menu.

User Menus: This menu will be displayed once a user has registered for your site and has been given permission to log in. Image

To view the User Menu, follow the instructions in the Private Web Site topic.
